Matt Hoffman, 32, is a web designer from Elgin, Illinois. He describes himself as “intelligent, creative and sweet-talker”. His favorite activities include “playing music, writing music, watching TV,” hockey, drinking and “annoying people for my own amusement.”
The hardest part of living in the Big Brother house for Matt was “the frustration of not knowing all the major world and pop culture news that’s happening all around you.” It is kind of like being in a bizarre time machine that way when you’re on BB.

More Tidbits About Matt Hoffman
Matt said part of his strategy to win Big Brother iwas to leave all his emotions and his “real life” at the door of the Big Brother house. He planned on going 100% game as soon as he walked in. So far, he’s done exactly that – including lying through his teeth at every opportunity. He is so far from real life, he’s told the other Houseguests his wife has a terrible disease, when she’s perfectly fine! We predicted at the beginning of the season that Matt would end up being a total jerk-off with a severe attitude problem. We were right.
Matt has tattoos, lots of them, very colorful ones. On a guy this skinny and generic looking, the sad thing is, they don’t even really look that cool. Just kind of like some kid went crazy on him with a bunch of crayons. He is, however, VERY proud of them. “My tattoos, coming into BB, are my greatest asset,” he told People. Matt is seriously weird.
Matt also claims he is a genius and “really condescending… It’s something that I’ve tried to work on but everyone aggravates me.” He has certainly proven this statement true.

Sleuthing Matt:
Obviously Matt wants to impress everyone with his musical prowess, since he mentions it somehow in every statement, interview or video he can shove it into. Although personally, we would never have admitted to being in a band called Shooting Blanks. Ouch.
You can check out a website for the band here, which apparently fell apart in 2007. Matt says on the website that playing music “makes me feel sexy” and most of his music is inspired by “a long night of drinking.” The primary message of his songs? “The world is your vagina – get drunk and f**k it.” You can read a lot more random stuff from Matt in various interviews and reviews about the band here.
Matt apparently likes the F-Word extremely a LOT. We would use the F-Word to describe his music pretty much. But not in a complimentary way. There are still active MySpace and Facebook pages for the band, which list Matt as responsible for vocals and guitar in the band.
Matt is a RealityWanted.com member, so obviously he’s been a reality TV whore kind of guy for a while. Check out his profile and a rather painful picture here. He says in his profile that he is straight and married. Apparently he only just got hitched not too long ago. We pegged him for a single before we found out about the recent nuptials. He just kind of screams awkward single guy to us. We saw absolutely no hooking up for Matt going on after dark. Not because he’s married – but because he’s seriously creepy and kind of gross. We did not, however, predict he would turn the gay guy in the house into his “cuddle-buddy”. That was just STRANGE.
Our Thoughts on Matt:
Matt just seems to breed a feeling of instant dislike. He also actually looks like a Hamster kind of, which disturbs us when we’re talking about the BB Houseguest hamsters. He’s smarmy; you can just feel it dripping off him. He obviously also seems to think he is really awesome and everyone else should worship him.

This means he probably has extremely low self-esteem and isn’t that gifted in the bedroom, if you get our meaning. We don’t believe Matt’s claims about being able to leave his ‘emotions’ behind when he enters the BB house. We really hoped we’d get to see Matt cry on camera before he left the house, but at least we did see him pissed off as hell when he realized he was screwed.
We predicted Matt would probably make some very strong enemies if he lasted long in the house. Indeed, he managed to seriously piss off a number of the other Houseguests – including his long-term BFF in the house, Ragan. We don’t really think even any of his alliance members ever really liked him. We said he’d stab anyone in the back if it helped him out at any time and we were right.
Chances of Winning:
We though it was possible Matt might make it all the way to the end. However, a stupid move throwing that Head of Household Competition left him out in the cold. In this case, it’s nice to see the asshat NOT win for a change!

How is saying someone has low self-esteem and lacking in the bedroom “civil” and on topic?? Does one know this based off of a 5 minute clip you’ve seen and a picture? Maybe the author should write intelligently and get their facts straight. I don’t see how slandering someone in an article is considered civil. It’s funny because he’s the most liked player in the house right now. I bet all those years of school really paid off for you to be such a great writer. You “pegged him as being single” – apparently using common sense is something that is not required when you’re a struggling artist. BB is a game it’s not the real world and it’s a game based on lying so who cares. Yes, maybe his lie was a bit extreme but he’s playing the game and you gotta give him props for that.
None of you know him in real life so you can’t just say he’s a douche and he doesn’t care. He said in his blog that he didn’t care if a wave of strangers turn against him, he only cares about the opinions of his friends and family and he seems to feel bad about what he said about his wife but says he can’t go back now.

This article is so far off that it should be pulled. Matt has been one of the quieter HGs this season, rarely brags, and lies less than most. His game play is excellent and he has gone out of his way to protect the Brigade as well as his side alliances. That’s a lot more than can be said about the rest of the Brigade who have thrown all the competitions and left Matt to pick up their slack. And then there is Rachel and Brendon, a real class act. Too busy fornicating to even keep up with the game but being promoted to the healt by BB. It’s obvious the author of this article is too envious of Matt to report accurately and he/she should be fired.
Matt is disgusting!!! Plain and simple. Trust me, I’m not a Rachel or Brenden fan either. The entire house makes me sick. Starting with Britney and Regan and then Matt. None of these people deserve to even be in the BB house. It’s the worse cast ever!!! As for matt, he took the prize didn’t he? And he didn’t tell the brigade right? What’s that say for his loyalty to his group. Why would anyone be envious of Matt? He’s so full of crap I can smell him from NY.
I think its so hypocritical of Matt to be complaining that Brendon got a message from Rachel on who to nominate. That is the only thing Brendon got to help his game-play for opening Pandora’s Box while Matt got a DIAMOND POWER OF VETO. That is the most powerful thing BB has given out this season and what Brendon received is NOTHING in comparison.
Matt is ridiculous. but what about Enzo and even Hayden? Enzo doesn’t do anything but spew his mouth and his “Jersey” background,(that alone is annoying as hell)and I don’t quite know what to think of Hayden. I like him but he doesn’t DO anything. He seems to cozy up to whoever has the power and then ride it out. This may be smart “game play” and has worked for him so far, but isn’t someone going to get wise to this pretty soon? If the rest of the houseguests don’t sit back and take stock of this entire situation pretty soon, they deserve what they will get.
Hayden and Enzo at the end with Hayden getting all of the votes…that’s pretty sad considering they never really took any chances or played the game…

I’ve been curious about that relationship too. Matt doesn’t try to deny it or do anything to stop the comments or the implication. what’s up with that? He is certainly playing into the scenario that there is something going on between them. Between his hands in his pants all of the time, his annoying little sneer and the nasty lie,that makes you know he doesn’t have real feelings for his wife, he makes you wonder just how “straight” he is.

matt isn’t a rat, grimling, dwarf or anything else people call him. i think its disgusting that people worry about what he does. its a game if you knew him like i do you wouldn’t be saying the things you do. he’s an amazing guy and great to have around. he’s fun, loving and has a twisted mind. not even his wife can figure out sometimes. but i guess thats what makes matt and i so much alike. stacy is a great woman herself. uncle matt and aunt stacy are wonderful together and they to me are fun and amazing. i love them with all my heart!
i have watched every yaer and matt is my favorite player. i think he is the coolest guy ever and it would be truly surreal to meet him in person.i agree with amy hoffman and think that if you got to know him away from the game you would feel the same.i live in san diego and work @ the starbucks in horton plaza mall downtown.so matt if you ever get to see this comment if you are ever in san diego please drop by it would be a pleasure to be your barista.

Ok, I have to start by saying this is def. a positive comment. Seriously, what is wrong with you people?! Since I started watching bb 12 I have been basically infatuated with Matt…some weird kinda school girl crush thing…I was so upset when he was voted off, i wanted to quit watching. Matt made a few mistakes but he played the ‘game’ very well. To me, and heck of alot of people around me, he was by far the hg we liked the most. There was something about him, I could tell was wonderful. Unless you are his wife, family, friends, you have to stop the dissing…you don’t know him and it’s not fair to him or his family.
its cool stephen i knew who you meant. my uncle matt played the best game over ANYONE!! he was supposed to be in season 11 but that never happened cuz the beautiful wedding between he and my aunt stacy. it was the most beautiful wedding i have ever seen. i love my uncle matt and aunt stacy, but i hate the way people talk trash about both of them it hurts to even read it. i miss uncle matt more than the world he and i are soo close it isn’t even funny. we have the same personality everything. and when he comes home after the game i can garentee i’ll be so happy to see him i’ll start crying. now that school is starting, i moved in with aunt stacy and uncle matt. everyone that hates him just keep it to yourself. alot of people are fans of my uncle. no one likes to read trash about someone close.
