Staten Island, NY native Jospehine “JoJo” Spatafora is yet another Big Brother 14 cast houseguest who has a day job, but really wants to be a ‘model/actress’ on the side. In classic Big Brother tradition, her CBS profile lists her job as “bartender” but she calls herself a “promotional model” and says her job is to “look hot” and make money.
Yes, she is another one of those girls… the ones with the ModelMayhem.com profiles and the ExploreTalent.com pages with their stats all laid out for gawking at. You know, the ones who hate having to work regular jobs while they try to become famous however they can get it. I’d love to go ONE Big Brother season without having a handful of aspiring ‘models’ of all varieties masquerading under the titles of ‘nurse’, ‘cocktail waitress’ and ‘bartender’. Never going to happen though.
A graduate of Tottenville High School, JoJo — who is 100% Sicilian, she says, and speaks Italian — probably lives or lived on Brookfield Ave and/or Colon Ave in Staten Island, according to Spokeo.com.
In her ExploreTalent.com bio, JoJo saus she is “fun, outgoing, easy to work with. I love being in front of the camera and working hard” and she is “certified in fashion merchandising/marketing.” She’s done some small modeling commercial work, including as a MATRIX hair show model and at various promo events, including some kind of boxing thing you can check out photos from here. She was also Rock Show Magazine Girl of the Month in October, 2011 under the moniker of JoJo Doll, which seems fond of using. She also notes on ModelMayhem.com that she is a “gogo dancer.”
In addition to wanting to land anything involving “print work, bikini modeling, commercials, acting, extra, appearances, promotional, and reality TV,” JoJo also hopes to become a bestselling author someday, according to her bio at RockShowMagazine.com. Interestingly, she previously taped a part in a reality TV show pilot called Growing Up Gold Coast she says is “negotiating with some very big networks.” That was back in 2011, however, and nothing seems to have happened with that so far. JoJo also appeared in a small role on Guy Code on MTV2 and was at one point represented by the Hylton NY Agency.
JoJo, 26, says in her CBS Big Brother 14 bio that she has “no kids or special someone to go home to,” although she supposedly has an ex-boyfirend she sometimes hooks up with and another guy she leads on because he gives her everything she wants. She basically comes right and says rather openly that she’s kind of a gold digger (but says she doesn’t like that term), which would make me run in the opposite direction if I was either of those guys.
Even though she is semi-involved with those previously mentioned guys, JoJo is quite open to having a showmance, but she’d want to keep it on the downlow because coupling up makes people a target on BB.
Jojo Spatafora says she was not previously a Big Brother fan. However, since she was cast, she says she’s put a lot of effort into learning as much about the show as she can before going in to the Big Brother 14 house. After brushing up on all things BB, JoJo says she loves Evel Dick… and hates Rachel Reilly. A woman after my own heart.
Going into the Big Brother house, JoJo said in one of her preseason interviews that she wants to “align with definitely any gays. I love the gays, they are fabulus, we get along great.” JoJo also thinks the gays make great game players because “they’re just like girls — they’re more manipulative and sneaky, but at the same time loyal.”
Well, even if they don’t ‘come out’, I think it will be obvious that Jenn Arroyo and Wil Heuser are as gay as it gets… so it should be interesting to see if a ‘rainbow alliance’ plus NY girl forms up. There’s also Ashley Iocco, who I have my suspicions might at least swing both ways. If all four hooked up, well, I just want to see that!
Sadly, JoJo seems to have deleted her previous Facebook account, which probably had lots of tasty tidbits about the aspiring model/actress, as the one listed on her Twitter feed is now missing in action.
JoJo’s twin sister, Francesca, told SILive.com that her sibling has always told her family she’d be on TV one day. Francesca says JoJo was excited about moving into a new phase in her life by joining Big Brother after going through recovery for drug addiction.
“My sister was addicted to Percocet,” Francesca said. “About 18 months ago, she entered a rehab in Florida. When she came back, she became a whole new person. My sister recovered and got stronger. Since she’s been chosen for Big Brother, she’s been on a natural high.” Francesca reports that her twin went to two auditions in Manhattan for Big Brother 14 and the producers loved her.
Francesca, BTW, will reportedly appear on the first episode with her sister, according to SILive.com. Francesca, along with JoJo’s brother Vito, and parents, Sicilian natives Guiuseppe and Nuccia, all believe JoJo can win the big prize.
“She knows how to get what she wants. She doesn’t care if people judge her,” said Francesca. “This is such a big deal for our family. This can lead to so much more for her. We are all so proud of her. She made her own dreams come true.”
We should note, there was a big rumor going around shortly before the premiere of Big Brother 14 that JoJo actually quit right after moving into the Big Brother 14 house. We’ll have to wait until the premiere to find out…
Our Conclusion: JoJo is either going to go balls to the wall, get in on an alliance and start scheming like mad… or she’ll lay back, bitch about stuff and end up an annoying floater. Honestly, it’s a bit hard to tell. Either way, I just dont’ really see JoJo making it very far in the game. She could maybe be a very early jury member, but I’m not even counting on her making it that far.
