Big Brother 18 Evicted Player Will Return In ‘Battle Back’ Competition!

On Big Brother last night, host Julie Chen revealed yet ANOTHER twist for season 18 with a new competition called “Battle Back”. That would be the second new challenge of the season for the houseguests, the first being the “Roadkill” competition that replaced Battle of the Block this year. However, this new event has nothing to do with who has power over the house. The Battle Back competition will be all about the simple goal of actually getting back inside the house.

After the live eviction on Thursday night, Big Brother 18 host Julie Chen announced that the evicted player would get a chance to actually return to the game. Unlike previous similar twists, however, this one would be a little bit different.

In the style of Survivor: Redemption Island, the first five players evicted will have the opportunity to fight head to head for a chance to return to the game. The winner of the first round will go on to the second, and so forth until the last person standing gets to return to the house. Even more interesting, these new challenges will apparently add an extra night to the CBS Big Brother TV roster on July 22.

Check out the official press release from CBS about the new competition below, including a surprising added Friday night special show!

On tonight’s episode of BIG BROTHER, host Julie Chen announced the next big twist of the summer, in which the first five evicted Houseguests will have a shot at returning to the game by competing in the first-ever “Battle Back” competition.

There will be four battles in all, with the last Houseguest standing returning to the game for another shot at the $500,000 prize.  Round one will feature a showdown between the first evicted Houseguest, Glenn Garcia, and tonight’s evictee, Jozea. The winner of Round One will advance and challenge next week’s third evicted Houseguest, and so on. All four “Battle Back” competitions and the reveal of the winner, will air exclusively during a special episode of BIG BROTHER, Friday, July 22 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

BIG BROTHER airs Sundays and Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT); and Thursdays (9:00-10:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT), featuring the live eviction show hosted by Julie Chen.

BIG BROTHER follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 87 HD cameras – seven more than last year – and more than 100 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week someone will be voted out of the house, with the last remaining Houseguest receiving the grand prize of $500,000. BIG BROTHER is produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, in association with Endemol Shine North America.
