Angie’s Exit Interview With EW.com

‘Big Brother’ Exit Q&A: Angie Swindell
Now that the 29-year-old pharmaceutical rep has been sent packing, she opens up to EW.com about her passionate exit speech as well as how she really feels about April, Keesha, and Libra
Angie Swindell — the 29-year-old pharmaceutical rep from Virginia — was unanimously booted from the Big Brother house last night. EW.com talks to her about her passionate exit speech (”I wanted to individualize everyone”), her thoughts about Jessie (”a very, very sweet individual”), and what she really thinks of Libra.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Wow, Julie Chen faked you out there at the end. Did you think Jessie was going to get voted out?
ANGIE SWINDELL: I was completely surprised. I first thought, ”Holy crap, my speech worked and I’m actually staying in the house.” Then she let me down very hard. I thought, ”Okay, well, it’s what I expected.”
What did you hope to accomplish with that final speech?
I really didn’t have a lot of pull as far as convincing Keesha, who had an emotional attachment to her alliance. She had said multiple times that she wasn’t there for the money. With that speech, I wanted to individualize everyone, to basically let them know that they have to start thinking for themselves and play for themselves. April and Libra are predominantly the glue that holds everybody together. They’ve infested the house. I had the best interest of all the players.
An 8-0 vote. Wow.
I had conversations with my alliance and told them they need to look out for themselves. A sympathy vote for me wouldn’t benefit them moving ahead.
In last night’s episode, the producers edited it in a way that made it look like there was a tidal wave of opposition towards Jessie. What happened in the house in the last two days?
Jessie is a very intense person who’s not afraid to speak up and share his point of view. When we got nominated, that alienated the four of us [Jessie, Michelle, Memphis, and Angie] from the others. When we didn’t win the POV, we were stuck between a rock and a hard place. As far as my strategy went, I tried to get Jessie worked up to get the target off my back. But Keesha and Libra really didn’t like me. They play emotionally, not strategically. No matter what Jessie did, I didn’t have a prayer. I was not trying to cater to their every need, sucking up to them, and that probably bothered them. I know April had mentioned that to everybody.

Brian’s Exit Interview With EW.com

‘Big Brother’: Hart Just Isn’t In It
Brian Hart was way too arrogant, way too early, and he paid for it by becoming the first to get booted from ‘Big Brother 10′
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Let’s clear something up first. You have watched this show before, right?
BRIAN HART: I watched season 7.
You obviously behaved a little too arrogantly a little too soon. Were you caught up in the whole idea of being on this show?
When I went in, I was really expecting to see some sort of opposition grow. I built an army with no one to fight! In season 7, everybody walked in and went at it. It was game on. A lot of my personality is the same way. But everybody wanted to sit around and see what happens. I packed three weeks of game play into seven days.
It appears that Libra was the first one to detect your influence in the house. Did you suspect that she’d be the one to call you out?
Later on in the week I did. At first, I wasn’t too sure about her. During the nomination process, I saw her cry. But I realized later in the week that once she saw someone else trying to make moves, her true personality came out. Mamma wants to do this and Mamma wants to tell everybody that! She didn’t like the fact I was having people do things that I wanted.
Why did you align with Dan and Ollie so quickly?
At first, there was something about Ollie that I was attracted to: he immediately had a connection to April, which would have been beneficial to me later on. And Dan was someone you knew you could trust. He was there as a Catholic school teacher with a girl back home who was wary about his actions. He could be a very great asset.
What were your first thoughts about Jerry? Did you think his age made him an easy target to manipulate?
I didn’t know I could manipulate him because old guys are so set in their ways. When I first knew how easy he would be to manipulate was when I requested that he not nominate Dan and Ollie and that he nominate who I would nominate. But I was completely fooled by his whole Marine Corps, swearing-to-tell-the-truth thing. I thought there was no way an old guy who went to war overseas was going to go against his word.
How long do you think he’ll last?
A while, though everybody wants to win the money while Jerry just wants to be there one or two weeks. He says that he’s having so much fun and he just wants to make it to the jury house. It’s very apparent he’s just there for the experience.
NEXT: ”My strategy was to spend as much time with Memphis as I possibly could.”
Matt’s Episode Commentary: Episode 3
Brian First HG Evicted; Jessie New HOH

Another great episode of BB10 tonight! I’m loving this season big time. Bringing back the studio audience was a great idea if you ask me. It was really nice and refreshing to see some BB fans in the audience and it defineitly added some energy to the show. There’s no denying that. I hope they continue with this in future seasons.
In the video packages before the Houseguest’s voted LIVE a lot went down. Brian was definietly shocked that Jerry nominated him. He wasn’t happy with Jerry at all, which is no surprise. But he knew what he was doing when he went around the house making alliances with everybody. His arrogance was insane and he got what he deserved. He came on WAY to strong WAY to fast. He could’ve been a great player too, he had a lot of potential but he runined it.
Brian wanted to know who the ring leader was in getting him nominated. Jerry told him that Dan and Steven had nothing to do with it and that Ollie, his other alliance member, was the ring leader and had sold him out. Dan and Brian confronted Ollie about this and he told them that the girls backed him into a corner and that he had no other choice. He kinda just walked away from the conversation.
