(VIDEO) Big Brother returns July 8th
May 23, 2010 |The summer sensation Big Brother is back for it’s 12th season this summer and is being promoted to be “bigger” than ever. The commercial which debuted during the Survivor finale has tapped the air date for the new season to be Thursday, July 8th in line with the usual timing of the show.
My favorite part: The promo is in HD. Could we finally see Big Brother in HD? It’ll be a serious let down if they don’t convert for this new season. Who else wants Big Brother 12 in High Definition?

That’d be awesome if they swapped out all those cameras for some HD feed! Hmm, though I’m thinking there have been too many moments in that house that I wouldn’t want to see in any more detail!

I’m sure they rent those camera’s every season.. even the control room is probably set up every season.
I work in television so I kind of know how it all works.. I still don’t know why they haven’t converted it at least 2 seasons ago.

It is surprising especially when CBS took Survivor to HD when it’s done in the jungle! Could it be a bandwidth issue for the existing cabling/wiring? Either way, seems like time they got with modern technology.

I don’t think so.. I’m pretty sure they could downgrade the signal going to the internet.. I’m not 100% sure but there are tons of ways to do this. And I’m sure it’s not a cost thing cause HD cams are (relatively) inexpensive.
