[spoiler name=”Spoiler Alert: Week 9 Power of Veto Ceremony Results”]

Shane Meaney spoiled Dan Gheesling‘s plan to beray him and (probably quite easily) get him out this week at eviction time by winning the week 9 Power of Veto. However, Dan was still hoping that Shane might just be crazy enough not to use the Power of Veto to take himself off the block. Why? Well, he has sort of said maybe he wouldn’t use it if no-mance Danielle Murphree might end up as the replacement nominee, but honestly I really hope he isn’t that stupid. He’s already said repeatedly he’s really just not in to Danielle, despite his continued flirting and snuggling with her, and the weird moments when he sometimes says he does like her but it doesn’t sound very enthusiastic.

Shane and Danielle got to out into the real world on Saturday for a ‘date’ that Shane won in the last competition. I have to wonder how they can supposedly interact enough with the public that people ‘knew their names’ and allegedly told Danielle they like ‘Quack Pack’, but yet managed to avoid any spoilers about Dan’s total manipulation of the house. (Like some fan screaming ‘Dan is f**king with all of you and wants you out next Shane – beware!’) However, at this point it looks like Dan’s ‘misting’ of the remaining houseguests is still intact.

With that in mind, the most likely scenario today was probably that Shane WOULD use the Power of Veto to take himself off the block and Ian Terry would put Danielle up on the block as a pawn against Jenn Arroyo. In that case, Jenn would be going home. There was also some possible chance that Ian might grow some balls and put Dan up on the block against Jenn and then things could get very interesting.

In the end, everyone pretty much went the most predictable (and least exciting) route. Shane used the PoV on himself, showing that he is at least not totally clueless. Ian put up Jenn Arroyo as the replacement nominee. The Quack Pack is now on track to eliminate the 5th wheel and then turn on each other in a cannabalistic frenzy after Thursday’s live eviction.
