Week Three inside the Big Brother 16 house has already been a whirlwind of strategy and maneuvering. Last Thursday, Derrick and Nicole were crowned the two Heads of Household of the week. Derrick proceeded to nominate Caleb and Jocasta while Nicole nominated Amber and Donny.
Through discussions with Derrick and members of his loose web of alliances, we learned that his overall target was Devin. All believed it best to not initially nominate him as he would be guaranteed two chances to pull himself from the block. Devin, a winner of two competitions thus far, is dangerous in any game in which he participates.
The Battle of the Block took place Friday. Caleb and Jocasta lost to Amber and Donny, which left them on the block and dethroned Nicole as Head of Household. Derrick, Caleb, and Jocasta would play in the Power of Veto competition.
Jocasta, however, became ill. She suffered from heat exhaustion and dehydration and is still bedridden as a result. Earlier today, we learned that she would simply not participate in the competition and not be replaced by any Houseguest.
At the PoV player selection ceremony, Devin, Christine, and Donny were selected to play alongside Caleb and Derrick. Devin’s selection was a major blow to Derrick’s plans.
Concerns about Devin’s competitiveness this week, however, have been laid to rest. Donny won the third Power of Veto competition of the summer! This is the second Power of Veto medallion he has sported this season. We expect Donny to remove Jocasta from the block and for Derrick to nominate Devin in her place.
This week is far from over, however, as we know many Houseguests want Caleb to exit the house sooner rather than later. With Caleb and Devin both sitting on the block, can Derrick corral the necessary votes to evict his target?
