At 42, CBS Big Brother 14 cast member Jodi Rollins is the oldest houseguest this year. She also happens to be one of the biggest fans of the show in the house, from what we can tell. Self-proclained superfan Jodi Rollins has never missed a single season of Big Brother, watches the Big Brother live feeds like an addict, never misses Big Brother After Dark, and she loves every aspect of the game — except shallow airheads who just want to be famous.
Well, I’m afraid poor Jodi will probably have to deal with a few of those this season. The biggest problem for Jodi may be her possible inability to connect with the younger players in the house and build strong relationships.
Waitress, sorry, restaurant server Jodi Rollins is originally from Centennial, Colorado but now lives in Brawley, California according to her Facebook profile. (Calipatria, CA according to her CBS profile.) She is also quite recently married (9 months) and has FIVE step-children. Sadly her Facebook provides little information beyond some cute photos of her husband and lots of wedding pics. So, there will be no showmancing for this girl!
When the first Big Brother 14 promos came out, before the houseguests were officially named, some folks actually thought Jodi was Kalia Booker from BB13 coming back to the house. There are still quite a few out there who keep comparing her to Kalia, but I think better of Jodi already than I ever did of Kalia. Thankfully, it seems that Jodi has a much more rational and thoughtful head on her shoulders. We’d love to know what she Tweets about on a daily basis, but unfortunately she’s made her feed private.
One strategic move Jodi wants to make is to observe the other houseguests carefully, and then pick out someone she thinks is trustworthy to align with that others might not suspect she would hook up with. For example, someone with tattoos and crazy hair… hmmm… someone like Jenn Arroyo perhaps?
Jodi says she doesn’t want to be one of those evil, mean types who just are cruel and hurt people, but she does know that sometimes on Big Brother, you do have to lie and backstab to get ahead. She feels she will probably have to reveal she is a Big Brother fan because if she gets caught lying about it, it would go badly.
Also, she absolutely HATES floaters, just so you know.
Despite being the older woman of the house, Jodi isn’t really interested in the ‘mothering’ role in the Big Brother 14 house, according to some things she’s said in her preseason interviews. Maybe that’s because in real life she has those 5 step-kids to deal with. (Frankly I’d be ready to be locked up in the BB14 house for a good long while after dealing with 5 step-kids too.)
As far as we can tell, Jodi Rollins doesn’t really have the whole fame-seeking insanity going on, and she doesn’t have her head shot up on a whole bunch of wannabe casting sites or moonlight as a local theater actor trying to break into the big time. Jodi really does honestly seem like a huge fan of Big Brother who was lucky enough to actually end up on the show. Personally, I like that.
Eviction: Jodi Rollins was the first houseguest to be evicted on Big Brother 14.
