NOTE: Not all of the following information has aired yet on Big Brother 16 on CBS. It’s been 10 days in the Big Brother house and the Houseguests have already managed to weave a complex web of alliances. From final two deals all the way up to an eight member alliance, these Houseguests aren’t playing around.
The first few alliances in the house (the Crazy8s and El Cuatro) quickly faded. While it’s not exactly clear what happened to them, we definitely know they no longer exist. It is likely that everyone realized how unrealistic the former was while the latter just seemed to fizzle out. Joey, Paola, Amber, and Nicole were all equal contributors to the formation of El Cuatro, but it was Joey who took the lion’s share of the blame.
Shortly thereafter, a new power alliance was born: the Bomb Squad. It all started with Frankie and Caleb talking in the Head of Household (HoH) room about their predicament as dual HoHs. They quickly decided to work together and to bring in more members. They recruited Devin, Derrick, Zach, and Cody to form a six all-male alliance. Then, Devin unilaterally decided to spill the beans of the alliance to Christine and Amber and to offer them admission.
While the rest of the alliance was shocked, they had no choice but to accept it. If Amber and Christine were kicked out, they would immediately rat them out to the rest of the house. The Bomb Squad now stands at eight members.
A myriad of sub alliances also exist within the Bomb Squad. Frankie and Zach, lovingly dubbed Zankie by the Internet, formed a secret final two alliance. While they hang out publicly in the house quite often, it is not yet obvious to the rest of the the Houseguests that they are working together so closely.
Zach has a side alliance with Cody and Derrick. One report called this alliance Jump Street, but that is unconfirmed. Frankie, meanwhile, has a casual alliance with Caleb and Devin. Just last night, Frankie also made a second finale two alliance with Christine (FrankNStine?). He told her that while he loves the rest of the Bomb Squad, he doesn’t feel Zach in particular has the finesse to go all the way. They mention their wishes to form a final 4 alliance between them, Zach and Cody.
As for the rest of the house, there are no official alliances. Donny mostly just does Donny things. Joey and Brittany have a tight bond. Hayden, Nicole, and Victoria get along really well with the rest of the house but for some reason have not solidified any real game relationships with anyone.
The real test of all of these alliances will be the first eviction of the summer. The Houseguests will have to choose between Joey and Paola. At this point, Joey is the clear target of the Bomb Squad. We will see whether Joey can muster votes from the rest of the house. She has a shot at getting the votes of Brittany, Hayden, and maybe even Jocasta and Nicole. Follow along on Twitter @BigBroAccess as we bring you the latest on Big Brother 16!
