We are somewhat sad to say that Big Brother After Dark will not be back on Showtime for season 16. In fact, we are pretty sure it will never go back to the almost totally uncensored premium channel again. CBS now owns TVGN, and they want to control all the possible profits they can get from Big Brother and Big Brother After Dark. So they have taken over BBAD and we don’t see them ever letting go.
On the one hand, this means the show is now totally free to watch and you don’t have to have a subscription to a pay channel to view it. However, it also means for some people that they can’t watch it at all because their cable service doesn’t carry TVGN. Having BBAD back on TVGN once again also means the show will be censored. Producers are promising to keep the censorship to a minimum this season after the mass outrage last year over endless bleeping of the conversations between the Houseguests. In fact, they are trying so hard to convince viewers it will be worth it to watch that they have released a somewhat amusing series of videos revolving around the “seven words” they will be bleeping. Because, as host Julie Chen says, “they have laws against that.”
If you do want to hear all of your Big Brother 16 cast conversations totally bleep free and uncensored, you’ll have to turn to the Big Brother Live Feeds instead. Everything shown on BBAD is also shown on the Live Feeds, but without any censorship. Well, at least not when it comes to language and accidental naked slips anyway. Sometimes they do still censor for other reasons, like when Houseguests sing when they aren’t supposed to, or mention people outside the house who haven’t signed a waiver, etc.
