We questioned if the love fest between Amanda Zuckerman and McCrae Olson would really last long term, and now it looks like the answer is a definite no. After rumors galore about the state of their relationship, and McCrae stating publicly that they would not be getting engaged any time soon, it looks like the Big Brother 15 showmance couple is over.

“After a lot of thought and discussion, McCrae and I have decided that it’s in both of our best interest to continue our relationship as friends,” Amanda Zuckerman posted on her Twitter feed on Saturday. “There is no ill will, he is a very important part of my life, and I will always love him, and what we shared. Thank you for respecting our decision.”
Just last month, McCrae Olson said in an interview with BlogTalkRadio.com that he had no plans to get engaged any time soon, despite some rumors to the contrary. He said he was “too young” and not financially secure enough yet. Amanda called into the show a few minutes later and teasingly asked why McCrae “wouldn’t want to propose to your girlfriend who’se beautiful and nice to you.” McCrae was quick to amend his comments, adding that it wasn’t like he “didn’t want to propose,” just that he couldn’t at this point in his life.

This exchange between the two ended up sparking a massive Twitter war between Amanda and a fan over the state of her relationship with McCrae. In a very weird twist, Amanda followed this up by posting what looked like an engagement ring on her Instagram account with the caption: “I said YES.” Naturally, this sparked her fans and followers into thinking that McCrae had changed his mind and proposed.
Then Amanda turned around and slammed everyone for assuming her picture and accompanying caption implied she and McCrae had gotten engaged. “Woah… Who said anything about being engaged? I said Yes! I WILL put on your fake engagement ring! Take Away: Things aren’t always as they seem on these social media sites. Don’t believe everything, and that ring is so not my type.
Well, now it looks like that future proposal is probably never going to happen and that fake ring is never going to turn into a real one.
As for McCrae Olson, so far he seems to be staying quiet on the topic. Which is really probably all for the best. Instead, he’s busy on Twitter talking about the death of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, the joy of being back home, and his love of Scott Pilgrim songs.
