CBS has announced that The Price is Right will air three prime time specials featuring former contestants from the trifecta of CBS reality shows: The Amazing Race, Survivor, and most importantly, Big Brother.
Respective show hosts are set to appear on the specials as well, Phil Keoghan of The Amazing Race, Jeff Probst of Survivor, and Julie “Chenbot” Chen of Big Brother.
No specifics in terms of dates, times, or contestants has been released, but we assume these will be promotional efforts for new seasons of the respective programs. Thus, we would expect the Big Brother show to air sometime in June.
We would expect houseguests from more recent seasons to make appearances, but this is merely speculation. Meg Maley and James Huling from Big Brother 17 have previous game show experience, having appeared on Pop TV’s Easiest Game Show Ever. Meg, James, John “Johnny Mac” Maguire, and Jason Roy also made appearances on CBS soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, to take note of who the network may be interested in.
However it is possible that they will dip into the Los Angeles pool of contestants of which there are many in order to determine who might be a good fit for a stint on the game show on short notice. But much is still unknown at this point.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Drew Carey (the current host of The Price is Right) will have hosted a game show featuring Big Brother houseguests. During season eight, Daniele Donato and Amber Siyavus won a chance to get out of the house and earn some cash on the short-lived game show The Power of Ten.
Who could we expect to see and what might this mean for a potential All Star season? Stay tuned for more details as they come to light!
