Big Brother 17’s Audrey Middleton Set to Make Film Debut

Big Brother alumni have been doing big things within the reality show world. Whether it’s The Challenge, Fear Factor, or The Amazing Race, past Big Brother houseguests have been everywhere. Now a former Big Brother houseguest plans to make her film debut.

Audrey Middleton

Big Brother 17’s Audrey Middleton was cast to be in a movie called Ava. Ava is a remake of an Israeli film called Melting Away. The film follows Ava as she returns home after an eight year absence. In the film, Ava used to be Adam, and her family meets Ava for the first time when she returns home.

In Ava, the title character comes home because her father is diagnosed with cancer. She pretends to be his nurse, and they start to form a bond. In Melting Away, the main character, when known as Asaf, gets locked out and banned from home because Asaf was caught dressing in women’s clothing. His father thought this would teach him a lesson, and he would return home.

Four years later, Asaf’s father, Shlomo, is diagnosed with cancer and his mother, Galia, fires a private investigator to find her son. Instead, she finds her daughter, Anna. Anna is a gorgeous woman and nightclub singer. Upon learning about her father’s illness, Anna poses as his nurse.

The two form a bond and develop a relationship she never had with him as Asaf. Anna’s return also allows Galia to accept and get to know her daughter.

Ava will be directed by Sam Wasserman, and the film will begin production in November. Wasserman plans to cast many of the roles within the transgender community.
