We are finally down to the final three of Big Brother 24. Brittany Hoopes was evicted this week, making Taylor Hale, Monte Taylor, and Matt Turner the official final three houseguests of the season. Those three will battle it out during the finale this Sunday, September 25.
The final three will sip champagne tonight and reminisce about the Big Brother season that was just played. They will recap the highs, the lows, and everything in between. As a bonus, we will get a sneak peek at the beginning of the first stage of the final Head of Household competition. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane.
Big Brother Season 24 In Review
The season would not be complete if we didn’t talk about Jasmine Davis and her milking of her ankle injury during one of the competitions earlier in the season. Jasmine was not shy or embarrassed to admit she took full advantage of her situation with the other houseguests. She loved when they waited on her hand and foot…no pun intended.
And we can not forget the Muffin Gate. Jasmine baked some muffins and left a few of them in a baggie for her to eat at a later time. Turner snuck into the muffin bag and took half of one muffin, and you would have thought the world was ending. Turner never admitted to being responsible for the Muffin Man scenario.
The final trio was reminded of Daniel Durston’s temper tantrum when his BFF Nicole Layog was evicted from the Big Brother 24 house. He and Monte went head to head about Nicole’s eviction when, in fact, Daniel was the one responsible for sending her out the door. Overconfidence can be a killer in the Big Brother house.
Turner was told again about his hygiene routine or lack thereof. He is quite the dirty guy, come to find out. When sharing a bedroom with a bunch of other people, it should be a common courtesy to bathe daily and keep your clothes laundered. Turner chose to do neither.
One of the lower points of Big Brother season 24 was when Kyle Capener made racist comments about alliances forming inside the house. Although Kyle did not intentionally set out to hurt any of his fellow houseguests, his assumptions regarding race were an eye-opener to where our society still stands in the fight for equality in our country.
Kyle was very upset with his actions once they were brought to his attention, but he wasn’t afraid to have really difficult conversations with those he hurt. He was extremely apologetic and sincere with his thoughts and comments to his fellow houseguests. Kyle may have made a horrible mistake, but he accepted his actions and made sure to do what he could to grow from the bad situation.
Final Big Brother 24 Head of Household Competitions
Each season when the final three houseguests remain in the Big Brother house, a three-part HOH competition begins to determine who will sit in front of the jury on finale night. Here is how it works. All three remaining houseguests play the first part of the HOH competition. The winner of that competition earns the right to move directly to part three of the HOH competition.
The two losers from the first part of the HOH competition will play against each other in the second part of the competition. The winner of the second part will join the winner of the first part to battle it out in the third part of the HOH competition. The loser of the second part will no longer compete.
The winner of the third and final stage of the HOH competition will earn the right to choose from the two remaining houseguests who he/she will take with them for the final jury vote. Those two houseguests will plead their case to the jury as to why they feel they deserve to win the title and the $750,000 prize that goes with the title.
The 9-member jury will each cast a live vote for their choice of Big Brother champion. The winner will be announced live in the finale episode of Big Brother this Sunday, September 25, at 8 PM EST.
Fans will also have the opportunity to vote for America’s Favorite Player. That winner will also be announced on finale night. AFP will be given $50,000 and a cruise as their prize. If you would like to vote for AFP, please click here. Voting closes on Sunday, September 25 at 12 PM EST/9 AM PT.
Tonight, we received a glimpse of the beginning of the first part of the final HOH competition. This competition is called Weiner Palooza, and here is how it works. At the sound of the horn, each houseguest will stand on a platform attached to a gigantic hotdog that wobbles back and forth and side to side. They must hang on for dear life because the last houseguest left hanging on wins the competition.
See you again on finale night.
