Tonight on Big Brother 23, Sarah Beth Steagall will be fighting for her life to avoid going to the jury house. This crazy week started with Tiffany Mitchell as Head of Household targeting SB for eviction. She lost her powers to Claire Rehfuss with the Coin of Destiny after Claire secretly took over her HOH powers.
Fortunately, Claire is Tiffany’s close ally, and she was thrown the competition by the Cookout alliance to keep the nominations the same. After Hannah Chaddha won the Power of Veto and used it to save third nominee Xavier Prather, this locked in the final nominees, Kyland Young as the pawn and SB as the target.
Week 8 Power of Veto Aftermath
Tiffany is still a little swole with Kyland for trying to get Hannah to use the POV to save him rather than Xavier. She is starting to question his loyalty to the Cookout.
The Cookout is starting to make plans for their strategies after this week’s eviction and beyond. Kyland, Derek Frazier, and Xavier have a final three pact together. Kyland isn’t sure if it would be better to take Big D and X with him to the final three or Hannah and Tiffany.
Kyland knows he is about to lose his ride-or-die in SB and has made a final two pact with Tiffany. He thinks that he comes out better with the jury against her rather than the other Big Brother houseguests.
First Jury House Update
Britini D’Angelo is the first juror, and she is joined by Derek Xiao. She can’t believe he was evicted from the Big Brother 23 house.
Derek brought Britini a recap video to show her what happened leading up to his eviction. He admitted he made a huge mistake by not playing in the Chopping Block Roulette.
Derek confessed he was surprised by the move to get him evicted until he heard Kyland’s goodbye message. In that message, Kyland foolishly told Baby D that he had been working with an alliance since week one. In addition, Kyland added that the alliance was able to keep all of their members in the Big Brother house. Boy, was that a big mistake on Ky’s part!
Baby D and Britini were able to deduce the members of the Cookout alliance and also the fact that they all have a separate duo with another houseguest. The genius part of their plan is that when they are put on the block with their duo, they have the votes from their alliance to send the duo home and keep themselves in the game. Baby D wants to give props to this ingenious plan.
Week Eight Live Eviction Vote
SB and Kyland gave their typical “last chance” speech to their fellow Big Brother 23 houseguests. Now time for the vote.
Big D voted to evict SB
Alyssa Lopez voted to evict SB
Tiffany voted to evict Kyland (sympathy vote)
Azah Asasum voted to evict SB
Hannah voted to evict SB
Xavier voted to evict SB
By a vote of 5 to 1, SB is evicted from the Big Brother 23 house and is officially the third juror. During her exit interview with host Julie Chen Moonves, SB thinks she was seen as more of a threat over Kyland. She thought the houseguests may have been uncertain about her loyalty in the game. She regrets showing her loyalty to Kyland and would change that if she had a do-over. She also thought Tiffany or Claire was the secret HOH…she nailed it!
Week Nine Head of Household Competition
To keep her HOH reign from last week a secret, Claire will compete in this competition. However, she knows she must also throw the competition and not win. Let’s get this endurance HOH comp underway.
This competition is called the Flying BB-inos. The houseguests will stand on a small disk attached to a rope that swings from a carousel. The carousel will swing the houseguests in a circular manner with an obstacle in the way during each revolution, Bubble the elephant.
When a houseguest falls off their rope, they are immediately eliminated. The last houseguest standing wins HOH for this week. The first three to fall will be have-nots for the week, so hang on tight. On a side note, this competition is Alyssa against the entire Cookout alliance.
During the first few minutes, Big D already fell off his rope. All other houseguests are still in the game.
Julie announced there will be double evictions forthcoming in the next two weeks. That’s 4 evictions in the next two weeks.
Before the cameras could cut away for the evening, Alyssa also fell from her rope and immediately ran to the back to be sick. It appears the circular motion got the best of her. We know a member of the Cookout alliance will be HOH this week.
Join us Sunday, September 5 at 8/7c for the results from this endurance HOH and the block nominations.
