CBS generously expands the careers of many of their former Big Brother contestants. Some of them continue reality show paths by appearing on The Amazing Race and Survivor. However, many others find themselves on some of CBS’s scripted daytime dramas. Big Brother past players have appeared on The Young and the Restless as well as The Bold and the Beautiful. The Bold and the Beautiful has been especially kind to former Big Brother players. Big Brother 12 and 13 cast members Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas have had recurring roles, while Big Brother 11 and 13 Jeff Schroeder did a brief stint on the show. Another recent Big Brother 15 player is keeping up this tradition.
Howard Overby revealed to TV Guide his excitement about signing up to do a short appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful. We cannot say fans are shocked by this news, because many have speculated that Howard would appear on a CBS soap opera soon. Howard is not the only Big Brother 15 cast member who will appear on the show. Elissa Slater also has a scheduled appearance on the same episodes. Additionally, Jeremy McGuire hinted during some of his exit interviews that he too may show up on one of the CBS soap operas soon.
Howard’s episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful are airing on October 30 and 31. His character will be a DJ and host for a Bikini Bar scene. Also scheduled to appear on these episodes are Jeff, Brendon and Rachel.
In the TV Guide interview, Howard also reveals that he has done some movie extra work before appearing on The Bold and the Beautiful and Big Brother 15. He states, “[I] have always wanted to do more acting.” Therefore, this could be the first of a long acting career for Howard.
