Who Won Power of Veto on Big Brother Tonight? 7/6/2016

Who won Power of Veto on Big Brother tonight was a big deal for current Head of Household Paulie Calafiore and his plan to backdoor fellow houseguest Victor Arroyo this week. Paulie has been working hard to make sure Victor gets the boot on Thursday night, but no matter how good the plan seems to be, there’s always potential for things to go terribly wrong.

As soon as Paulie Calafiore won Head of Household this week, he had his sights set on Victor Arroyo as his target of choice to get out of the house. He didn’t want to give Victor any chance to escape the target on his back, however, so Paulie did not put him up as one of his original nominations. Instead, he planned to backdoor him as a renom after the Power of Veto was used to take one of the original nominees off the block.

Turns out this was a pretty solid plan on Paulie’s part. Although Victor won the Roadkill challenge shown on Sunday’s show, the person he chose as the third eviction nominee has not yet proven to be a big enough target to distract the majority in the house from continuing to come after him. Plus, Victor was not chosen to play in the Power of Veto Competition. So that meant he had no opportunity to prevent himself from going up on the block as a backdoor nominee.

On quite the roll this week so far, it was Paulie who actually ended up winning the Power of Veto Competition. He made a deal with Paul that he would take him off the block if he won, and that’s exactly what happened. Paulie then replaced Paul with Victor, which paved the way for his backdoor plan to work out perfectly.

Now Paulie and the majority in the house just have to stay on track to get Victor out the door on Thursday, and not be distracted by all the wheeling and dealing going on around them in the house. Tension has been rising between the members of the leading Eight Pack alliance, and Tiffany, who was put up by Victor as the third nominee when he won the Roadkill competition, has been rising as a target.

You never know until the votes are actually cast what may happen, but Paulie winning the Power of Veto Competition and putting up Victor as a backdoor nominee certainly seems to be a good indication that it may soon be lights out in the Big Brother 18 house for Victor. Unless, of course, he can win the Battle Back competition and end up returning back to the game later on in the season.
