Why Kaycee Clark Deserves to Win Big Brother 20

Kaycee Clark started the Big Brother 20 season as someone fans barely acknowledged. She was just a loyal member of Level 6 and Tyler Crispen‘s sidekick. However, the second half of Big Brother 20 really became the Kaycee and Tyler show. She won competition after competition, and even tied the record for most Veto competition wins in a single season. Kaycee also became more of a character in the season, fans got to know her personality and her “let’s go,” catchphrase. Now we’re one sleep away from Kaycee possibly beating Tyler and becoming the Big Brother 20 champion.

90-something days ago, no one would have expected an outcome where Kaycee was the frontrunner to win Big Brother 20. However, can she really beat the kid wonder Tyler? Let’s take a look back at some of Kaycee’s strongest and weakest game moments.

Kaycee played a loyal game. There was nothing that the Hive, or anyone could say or do to make Kaycee turn her back on Level 6 and Tyler. When Level 6 decided to take out Brett Robinson, Kaycee seemed the most in turmoil about it. She eats, breathes, and sleeps loyalty, and in the game, that’s one of the most honorable traits. It’s also one of the most foolish.

In Big Brother 16, Cody Calafiore taking Derrick Levasseur over Victoria Rafaeli is still considered one of the worst moves in Big Brother history. Cody picked loyalty over greed, and it ended up costing him $500,000. In another season, Kaycee may have suffered the same fate and ridicule as Cody by taking Tyler to the end, but because he has done a good job of alienating the jury members, it’s actually probably the smartest decision Kaycee can make. At least against Tyler, Kaycee has a 50-50 chance of winning, where as JC Mounduix would most likely beat both Kaycee and Tyler in the final two.

Tyler was in the spotlight most of the game, and he controlled most of Level 6’s decisions, and the decisions for Coast-to-Coast. However, without Kaycee playing more of the defense to Tyler’s offense, Level 6 could have easily fallen apart. At one point, Rachel Swindler was convinced Tyler couldn’t be trusted. It was with Kaycee’s influence that Angela Rummans stopped believing Rachel, and eventually voted her out. This ended up creating the strong bond between Tyler, Angela, and Kaycee. This trio became the driving force and strength behind Level 6.

Tyler wanted to take out Brett sooner than the double eviction, but Kaycee’s unwillingness to even consider that option helped keep Level 6 strong until final six. From Brett’s perspective (until he probably heard about the goodbye messages), Kaycee had the least influence in his eviction. This helped her keep that blood off her hands while Angela and Tyler got most of the blame.

Kaycee also chose to be kind and really bond with players like Scottie Salton and Haleigh Broucher before their eviction. This helped endear her to them more than Tyler. Kaycee had one of the best jury management skills of the final four, but she isn’t without faults in that area.

She chose to be slightly petty and confrontational with jury members like Bayleigh Dayton, Scottie, and Faysal Shafaat. They might remember her little quips when it comes down to picking between Tyler or her to win Big Brother 20. One of Kaycee’s biggest game blunders is that she won five vetoes but didn’t use them to make a big move, or any move. She just stayed focused on one single thing: Getting Level 6 and Coast-to-Coast to the end.

The jury will have to wonder if not making any major moves is something they can reward against someone who made all the big moves.

Kaycee played an inoffensive game. She kept her negative comments about the players mainly under wraps, she won a ton of competitions, and remained the driving, loyal force behind Level 6. However, did her lack of game moves wow the jury enough to give her the win in the end?
