Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson Become First Big Brother Alumni to Win Amazing Race

The Amazing Race has played an important part in Big Brother couples’ history all the way back to Big Brother 2. However, it became a major thing starting with Big Brother 11 and 13’s Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd. The couple ended up only finishing in seventh place on The Amazing Race 16, but it was start a trend with Big Brother contestants.

Like with the Bold and the Beautiful, some Big Brother players actually campaign to get cast on The Amazing Race and Survivor. However, until 2018, the only other Big Brother showmance, besides Jeff and Jordan, to appear on The Amazing Race, was Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas.

Rachel and Brendon went all the way to the finale on the 20th season, but ultimately came in third. Showmances usually come and go way before Amazing Race begins filming, so that might be why more showmances haven’t appeared on the series.

Additionally, there have been lots of rumors of people being scheduled to appear but then something happens to stop them before they even start the race. Last year, right after Big Brother 19 wrapped, Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson announced that they would compete on Amazing Race 30.

The couple soon left to film. For the last–almost–two months, fans of the couple have been watching with anxiety as they were on top one week, and barely surviving the next. In last night’s two hour finale, Jessica and Cody had more than a few close calls.

The night came down to Jessica solving a puzzle where she had to assemble a plane that also reflected their Amazing Race journey. All three couples struggled with attempt after attempt, until Jessica finally got it right, and Cody and her raced to victory.

This makes them the first ever Big Brother players to win the Amazing Race. They took home a cool million dollars, doubling what they would have made if they won Big Brother 19. Cody obviously used some of this money to buy an engagement ring, and we’re sure a lot of that million will go to planning their fall 2018 wedding.

If “Jody” fans still want to see more of their favorite showmance, the couple will once again appear on a CBS property. They’ll both be appearing on the Bold and the Beautiful Monday, February 27, 2018, and Tuesday, February 28, 2018.

Congrats to Jessica and Cody on their Amazing Race win.
