The two night Big Brother 2016 premiere event held up to all the hype and claims of being one of the best in the show’s 18 season history. Glenn Garcia’s Summer Vacation came to an abrupt end after losing in a photo finish to Corey Brooks during the last round of the Hit the Road competition. The premiere event also included Nicole Frankel crowned as the first Head of Household, and Jozea Flores and Paulie Calafiore put up as nominees for eviction.
Although some rookies are starting to make deals with the returnes in the Big Brother 18 house, the tension between the majority of veterans and newbies is palpable. After Jozea proclaimed to Da’Vonne that he was the “messiah of the newbies”, he easily earned his ticket to the block from HOH Nicole. Past season 16 runner-up Cody Calafiore’s brother and newbie Paulie, made his way to the block as a pawn for Nicole. History dictates that pawns typically don’t fare well on the block, and Sunday may give viewers some indication as to whether or not Paulie made the biggest mistake of the season thus far.
During the upcoming Sunday evening episode airing at 8PM ET/PT, the Big Brother house drama promises to continue when an all new competition is revealed. The BB18 producers are doing their best to make this a great Big Brother season.
Sunday night should also give viewers an update on how the have-nots are adjusting to their week-long punishments including the typical slop and uncomfortable sleeping conditions. The theme for the have-nots room this year is a nightmarish carnival providing bumper cars for the sleeping quarters. I hope no one from the Big Sister team, consisting of Da’Vonne, Paul, Zakiyah, and Jozea, are afraid of clowns. If so, this week could prove very frightening for those houseguests.
Finally, let us not forget the mystery punishment for the second team to fall off the rockets in the Ride the Rockets challenge has yet to be revealed. Category 4 is to receive this punishment at some future point in the game. The punishment was not revealed on the second night of the premier event which leads us to think that Sunday’s episode could finally reveal the mystery.
