The Big Brother 24 premiere date is quickly approaching. It’s almost time to fully immerse yourself into the madness that is the Big Brother game. After last season’s historical victory of the first Black winner and the most successful alliance of all time, the Big Brother 2022 season could be one of the best ever. No one knows what Big Brother 24 will bring, but that makes us even more excited for the season.
CBS has been slowly releasing details about the new season of Big Brother, so much is still unknown, but we do know a few details about Big Brother 24, and we can offer some speculation on what to expect this Big Brother 22 season. Let’s dig into what we already know.
Big Brother 24 Premieres On July 6
In May, CBS announced that Big Brother 24 premieres on July 6 at 8:00 pm EST. Fans can expect a 90-minute premiere, followed by the 90-minute premiere of The Challenge: USA. CBS is pairing these two programs this summer because The Challenge: USA features former CBS reality show contestants from Love Island, The Amazing Race, Survivor, and of course Big Brother. Big Brother 23 winner Xavier Prather is one of the cast members of this upcoming The Challenge: USA season. Other Big Brother alumni include Angela Rummans, Tiffany Mitchell, Derek Xiao, Kyland Young, Enzo Palumbo, and many others.
US Weekly reports that Big Brother 24’s 90-minute premiere will be live and will have a live move-in with the new houseguests. Big Brother has done this in the past, but this is more of a newer change to the show, so we aren’t sure if this will become the norm in future seasons.
The Live Feeds Launch Date Hasn’t Been Announced
Because Big Brother 24 has a live move-in, fans hope that this means that the Big Brother Live Feeds will begin after the West Coast airing of the episode. This would allow the fans to watch most of the action from start to finish. You would be able to see any alliances forming from the start, showmances starting, and other things that give the show its character. If the Live Feeds don’t start on the premiere night, fans can likely expect the feeds to begin the following night after any surprise twists or eviction.
Fans can watch the Live Feeds on Paramount+ by signing up for a subscription. Paramount+ has two subscription options: The ad-free option and the ad-supported one. Paramount+ subscribers can pay $4.99 a month for the ad-supported or $9.99 a month for the ad-free service. The major difference between these two plans is that the ad-free one, of course, is ad-free, but it also allows you to live stream CBS and other Paramount+ networks. If you have basic cable or an antenna, then the ad-supported option may be a better deal, but if you’ve cut the cable cord or just don’t own a TV, then paying a little extra may be worth it to watch Big Brother 24 live as it airs.
Paramount+ also has a lot of other great benefits, including the ability to watch episodes on-demand, Paramount movies, MTV shows, and much more. The biggest benefit is the ability to watch the Live Feeds, and you know you want to watch them.
Update: It was announced on June 28, 2022, that the Big Brother Live Feeds officially begin the same night as the premiere. They start at 2:00 am EST after the West Coast premiere of Big Brother 24.
Julie Chen Returns As Host
Julie Chen-Moonves continues her 24+ season run as the host of Big Brother. It would be surprising if Julie ever wasn’t the host of the TV series, so we should probably expect her to continue hosting the show forever.
The Cast Announcement Is Still Unknown
In the previous Big Brother seasons, the cast has been announced anywhere from a week to a couple of days before the premiere. If Big Brother 24 follows the Big Brother 23 cast reveal, then stay glued to bigbrotheraccess.com around June 30 for a possible cast reveal.
If we don’t learn the cast by July 1st, Big Brother 24 may follow in Big Brother: All-Stars 2 footsteps and have the cast reveal live during the premiere. We doubt this will happen because that takes away some of the preseason buzz, and buzz builds episode views.
Most seasons of Big Brother include at least 16 houseguests. We expect to see at least sixteen houseguests, if not more, especially if Big Brother sticks to its tradition of 80+ day seasons.
Big Brother 24 Finale Is On September 25, 2022
It’a being reported by Big Brother Network and others that Big Brother 24 ends on September 25. This means that the houseguests will only be in the house for 82 days. This is one of the shorter seasons of the show.
Big Brother 24 Airs Three Times A Week
Sticking to the usual tradition, Big Brother 24 airs three times a week: Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. It airs on Sundays at 8:00 pm EST. This episode will usually involve any major competitions of the week, such as HOH, twists, and nominations. The Wednesday episodes also air at 8:00 pm EST and usually are the Power of Veto Competition and Ceremony episodes. Thursday episodes air at 9:00 pm EST and will be the live evictions, and sometimes the start and conclusion of the Head of Household competitions.
Each episode will be about an hour with ads. The episodes will be available the following day on Paramount+.
There Will Be Twists, We Just Don’t Know Them Yet
CBS and Big Brother love their twists, so fans can expect twists to enter the game at some point. We haven’t had any intentionally casting twists in a few seasons, so we hope it’s something like that for this season. By casting twists, we mean siblings, twins, exes, secret partners, or rivals. Adding a personal connection to the game usually adds additional excitement and drama.
A twist we hope to not see this season, and every season, is a day one eviction. We lose a potential interesting cast member before the game even really starts. CBS, just say no to day one evictions.
We still have so much to learn about Big Brother 24, but we’re excited for the season to start. As always, stay tuned for all things Big Brother. It’s going to be an exciting season.
