Heading into the live eviction tonight in week five of Big Brother 23, we are still waiting to find out who the current Head of Household, Derek Xiao, is going to nominate to the block. He originally nominated Britini D’Angelo and Sarah Beth Steagall with the intention of backdooring Christian Birkenberger after the Power of Veto was played.
Britini won the POV competition allowing her to save herself from the block. This set the stage for Derek X. to nominate Christian and complete his backdoor plan, but this is a big, powerful move. Derek’s allies seemed split on whether to go after the big fish for someone smaller like Derek Frazier. Tonight, we will see who was the replacement nominee, watch the live eviction vote, and see the week six HOH competition. Buckle up, this should be a fun night for Big Brother!
Week Five Power of Veto Ceremony
As expected, at the POV meeting, Britini used the POV and took herself off the block for eviction. Derek X. replaced Britini with Christian…just as planned. Derek explained to Christian that he was the biggest target in the Big Brother 23 house.
Christian and Xavier tried to convince Derek that it was best to keep Christian in the game to continue winning competitions and taking out fellow houseguests. Derek didn’t seem to be buying what Christian was trying to sell.
Power of Veto Ceremony Fallout
Christian is determined to get the five votes he needs to stay in the Big Brother 23 house. He feels like he already has Alyssa Lopez and Xavier Prather’s votes. He is off to campaign the remainder of the houseguests.
In the meantime, Claire Rehfuss received her punishment. She will be dressed in a unitard all week representing the Duke of Deck. Anytime the King wishes to be entertained, Claire has to play 52-card pick up by herself.
Kyland Young also got his punishment. He must wear the Jackass of Clubs, and make a club sandwich anytime the King is hungry. Making these sandwiches is no easy feat either. This punishment will last all week.
Christian And Allies Pushes Hard To Stay
Tiffany Mitchell wants Christian to stay in the Big Brother house. She is working with Christian to help him stay this week. She has noticed that SB is very comfortable right now indicating she’s not too worried about going home.
Tiffany and Christian decide that they must get two of the Jokers to vote to keep him in the Big Brother 23 house. In that Jokers group are three houseguests, Derek F., Britini, and Azah Asasum.
Derek F. is very upset that Tiffany is barking orders even though they are in the same alliance, the Cookout. Derek F. is so upset that he is considering leaving the Cookout alliance.
Tiffany and Christian have a real heart to heart. She tried to convince Christian that he doesn’t need just one vote, he needs three because the Jokers are not voting for him. Christian still thinks he can convince them to keep him. Tiffany disagreed.
Tiffany spoke to Xavier and found out he is willing to keep Christian. Now, they are back on track to flip the Big Brother 23 house vote to keep Christian. Will they succeed?

By a vote of 7-2, Christian is evicted from the Big Brother 23 house. During his eviction interview with Julie Chen Moonves, he said he and Alyssa will discuss their relationship once she is gone from the Big Brother 23 house. Christian said he respects Derek’s game, but he thinks this move to have him evicted will backfire on him. We will see in the coming weeks.
Next New Big Twist Of The Game
A new room will open up at the BB Beach Club called the High Rollers room. Inside are three unique online casino games with game-changing powers like the ability to take yourself off the block, win a second POV, or flip the power to your favor.
To enter the High Rollers room, the houseguests will need BB bucks. Players earn BB bucks from you, the fans. We will vote for who we want to receive our bucks each week. The first three vote-getters will receive 100 BB bucks, the next three get 75 BB bucks, and the remainder of the houseguests will get 50 BB bucks.
BB bucks do not have to be used each week. They can be accumulated to be used later for even larger potential awards in the High Roller room. To vote for your favorite Big Brother 23 houseguest text their first name to 97979.
