Jackson Michie and Holly Allen began their Big Brother romance quite early in the season. They had a sort-of will they/won’t they dynamic for the first couple weeks, then become glued to hip from their first kiss until now. Jackson and Holly have had a shaky romance, sometimes a very hard to watch one. Now, they have reached the final three together, a rarity in the Big Brother universe.
Even more rare, they might end up in the Big Brother 21 final two together. Jackson won the first part of the final Head of Household competition and Holly won the second part. This should mean that they will for sure go to the end together. But will they?
Paranoia and distrust are feelings that run rampant in the Big Brother world. Holly’s new closeness with Nicole Anthony is making Jackson worry that she might pull the ultimate betrayal/glorious game move and drop him at the end, if she wins the final Head of Household competition. This fear and doubt could send Jackson to do what he fears Holly plans to do, if he wins the final part of the Head of Household competition. Honestly, when all is said and done, no matter who wins the part three, we expect Holly and Jackson to sit in the final two chairs together.
Jackson and Holly going to the end as a showmance will mark only the second time this has happened in Big Brother history. The first time it happened was in Big Brother: All Stars when Mike “Boogie” Malin and Erika Landin ended up in the finals together. This historical moment resulted in Mike winning All-Stars over Erika. We could see history repeating itself with the more dominant male player beating his more submissive female partner, or we could see a completely different outcome with Holly being rewarded for her social game and Jackson losing for being a little too aggressive with his game moves.
Showmances have become a huge part of the Big Brother game. It’s always been a factor, but now it’s become a useful tool to further oneself in the game. It’ll be interesting to see how the jury views each side of the showmance during tonight’s Big Brother 21 finale.
