Big Brother 24 Loses Its First Cast Member

Similar to Big Brother 23, we have a last-minute cast change! In Big Brother 23, the cast had been announced but right before the season officially began, Claire Rehfuss replaced Christie Valdiserri. Valdiserri tested positive for COVID-19, which made her ineligible to move into the Big Brother 23 house. CBS delayed announcing the Big Brother 24 cast until the day before the premiere, which we assumed was to avoid another incident like last season.

Marvin Achi and Joseph Abdin in Big Brother 24

However, it seems like something has happened to cause another major casting change. While most of us were getting ready for bed, CBS dropped a big announcement: Marvin Achi was set to move into the Big Brother 24 house live tomorrow, but now he won’t be having the Big Brother experience this year.

Joseph Abdin will replace him. The CBS Twitter page describes Joseph as “a 24-year-old lawyer from Lake Worth, FL.” CBS didn’t give any more info about the replacement, but some may speculate that another positive COVID-19 test may be the reason Marvin won’t get to play.  Marvin is also currently appearing on America’s Got Talent, so that may also have led to his removal. Many reality shows have a no-compete clause for a few seasons.

We also may find out why Marvin was removed from the cast before the premiere sometime this week. We’ll keep you updated.
