Big Brother 24 Cast Member Matt Turner Linked To MrBeast

Summer is here, which means it’s time for the Big Brother 24 cast reveal. This summer’s cast seems fun, but one of them is already linked to some controversy. Big Brother cast member Matt Turner is connected to one of the biggest YouTubers of all time–and not in a positive way.

MrBeast Matt Turner

Twitter is abuzz today as they dig into the digital footprint of the Big Brother 24 cast. Today, Matthew Turner is at the top of the list. He used to be an editor for MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), a YouTube personality with over 98 million subscribers.

Following the termination of his working relationship with MrBeast, Matt made some major accusations against him. This is what happened.

MrBeast has made a big splash on social media and has numerous viral videos for giving away hundreds of thousands of dollars to everyday people. Some even called him the “nicest guy on social media” for all of his charitable giveaways and philanthropic activities.

When such a well-known nice guy is thrown under the bus for the way he treats his employees, it makes the headlines. That is exactly what happened to MrBeast by former employee and newest BB24 cast member, Matt Turner. Although this story has been buried online for some time now, today’s cast reveal has brought the issue right back to the forefront.

According to the New York Times, Turner claimed that his employer, MrBeast, berated him almost every day. He also claimed that he was often called by a phrase used to insult people with mental disabilities. These actions left Turner in tears.

Mr.Beast employed him from 2018 to 2019, according to the New York Times. Turner also made statements about not being credited for this work. He said that when he would ask for credit, MrBeast would “credit someone else” instead.

The accusations began on October 6, 2019, with Turner blasting MrBeast on his Twitter feed and accusing him of being a “bully”. According to Dextero, Matt tweeted, “That was the most mentally draining time of my life. I was yelled at, bullied, called mentally r–, and replaceable by MrBeast every day. Being in tears and having mental breakdowns day after day is difficult, and after a while, it became too much.”

MrBeast responded to the accusations swiftly. MrBeast claimed that he’d given Turner a whooping $10,000 as severance, as well as another job at SoaR Gaming, as reported by Dextero from an October 9 YouTube video posted by MrBeast. It is no longer available online.

A handful of other former employees also came forward complaining about the work environment under MrBeast. As years have passed since these allegations, there have been no more accusations made about the work environment under MrBeast.

In addition, a previous video posted by Turner turned many heads across the web because he claimed that working for MrBeast was “a blast each and every day,” according to Dextero.

That wasn’t the first time MrBeast has come under fire. According to the Atlantic, he has a past habit of using homophobic slurs. He has shown remorse and has cleaned up his act since being called out for these activities in 2017.

The internet drama regarding these accusations had all but been forgotten until the new cast was announced today by @CBSBigBrother.

Surprisingly, someone claiming to be Matt’s sister has come out with her own opinion on the matter today, and it is NOT in favor of Turner. Holly Turner, @ittybittyholly, lambasted Matt for “bullying” her for her entire life.

She went on to reference his accusations to MrBeast as just a platform to launch his own YouTube career. Holly claimed that Matt has been “given a platform and gets to parade around in front of millions of people – on a show I adore – with his charming manipulation tactics that literally ruined my life.”

After all of this information has surfaced, it is interesting that Big Brother decided to include Matthew Turner in the cast this year–knowing that his connection to MrBeast would likely resurface. CBS has not made a comment on the matter, and they probably will not.
