Who Won Power of Veto on Big Brother Last Night? 8/24/2016

Who won Power of Veto on Big Brother tonight and will it force the rest of the house to choose a new target for eviction this week? Did one of ‘The Sitting Ducks’ end up as the Big Brother veto winner this evening and save themselves from the block? If so, who ended up as the replacement nominee and are they now in danger of getting the boot from the house in Thursday’s live eviction?

The houseguests this week were subjected to that most annoying of competition preps when they were kept up all Friday night with a constant barrage of “BB Storm Watch” alerts. They had to listen as Big Brother announced various details about ‘storms’ named after previously evicted players. Some of the houseguests studied these clues hard, like Paul, Victor, and Michelle, while others didn’t seem to care much at all, like Corey and Nicole.

Before the Power of Veto Competition, Natalie, James and Michelle basically all agreed they would rescue Victor from the block if any of them won Veto. Michelle had actually already promised this out loud at the Nomination Ceremony on Friday. Even though Natalie was the one who put Victor up on the block, she and Michelle talked it over and they decided they’d rather go after Corey, if possible, or Paul, because James really was all about getting out Paul.

Although the houseguests were expecting the usual standard memory competition in the Power of Veto challenge, they actually got a bit of a surprise with a different twist than usual. However, that didn’t throw the much studied Paul Abrahamian off one bit. He worked hard on those ‘BB Storm Watch’ clues and it paid off when he walked away with the win. Great news for Paul, because without the Veto, he was pretty much set to walk out the door on Thursday night.

At the Veto Ceremony, Paul of course used the power to take himself off the block. Forced to put up a replacement nominee, Michelle chose Corey to take Paul’s place. However, as it stands right now, the votes are looking bad for Victor when the live eviction rolls around on Thursday night. He’ll just have to hope if he goes to Jury that he will win the ‘Buyback’ competition and get to come right back into the house for the second time!
